I also examined Livebinder, another Web 2.0 application. Similarly to Diingo, this application involves collecting and organizing information in a central location. It allows you to create a virtual binder to which you can add tabs and sub tabs of a large variety of information through both the internet and computer files. It is an efficient way of presenting large amounts of information all in one place in an easily accessible and organized manner.
I see great potential for this application as a future teacher. For example, if I am teaching about grammar rules for an English class, I can put together a virtual binder for specifically English grammar. I could use the binder to help organize my information and more effectively present it using the presentation function of Livebinder. I also can share my binder with the students, so they can reread over my presentations. Furthermore, I could add supplemental information through videos, audio, images, documents, games, etc. all under the English grammar binder so that the students could further their studies beyond what we go through in the classroom. If other teachers have this application, we could easily share binders and thus quickly share information and help improve our teaching. A teacher could give their students a group project in which the students share one binder that they collaborate together on. It not only aids the students in organizing all their research it teaches them how to work together, even virtually, to accomplish a group goal. Overall, I think there are plenty of features that are easily accessed, and the layout of the binders are well-designed. This allows teachers and students alike to utilize the application and use it to promote greater learning in and out of the physical classroom.
